 Carmen Barker Lemay, PhD, President and CEO
Carmen Barker Lemay founded Integrative Growth, Inc. in 2006 with the vision of partnering with business and community leaders, artists and entrepreneurs to grow the sustainable economy.
Prior to founding Integrative Growth, Carmen was an executive at a Fortune 500 energy company responsible for several internal consulting organizations. While there, she received commendations for thinking like a CEO, for her customer advocacy, for having a highly engaged work team, for providing and inspiring innovative business ideas and for her high performing operation.
With fifteen plus years of research and consulting experience, Carmen has applied her expertise to many industries: financial services, health & wellness, insurance, building materials & construction, media & entertainment, non-profits, professional services, retail, software & services, telecommunications & IT, travel & leisure and utilities.
Carmen also has taught and conducted research through affiliations with the University of Southern California, Glendale Community College, and Ball State University. She has a Ph.D. in Political Economy & Public Policy and an M.A. in Economics.
Carmen is an avid outdoorswoman and lives the philosophy of leave no trace. Her hobbies include: yoga, organic gardening, hiking, and canoeing the back trails and byways of the world with her family. She plays the flute and piano. Carmen serves on the boards of Lynnhurst Congregational UCC and the Mixed Blood Theatre.
 Doreen Caruth, BA, Practice Leader, Market Research and Evaluation
Doreen Caruth has nearly 20 years of research experience including team leadership, project management, questionnaire design, data analysis and reporting. She has managed a multitude of large and complex survey research projects including customer behavior change, energy efficiency process evaluations, consumer and business to business customer satisfaction research, and stakeholder research.
Doreen is also experienced in successfully leading functional and cross-functional operating teams ensuring that projects are completed in a timely and high quality fashion. She demonstrates outstanding planning, execution and monitoring capabilities, as well as strong client service skills.
Doreen is effective at conducting in-depth interviews with key stakeholders and creating program process flow diagrams and logic models accurately displaying linkages between the activities, outputs, and outcomes, and providing key performance indicators. She is skilled at analyzing research data, writing insightful reports, and presenting findings to clients.
Doreen has applied her expertise to a variety of industries including energy and utility, financial services, retail, health care, and information technology. She earned a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis, MN.
Gena Gerard, MA, Project Manager
With 15 years of project administration experience, Gena brings her experience in primary and secondary research, policy analysis, and technical writing and reporting to client engagements.
Gena is a macro-level systems thinker with an appreciation for detailed analysis. She holds a Masters degree in Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota.
Morgan King, BA, Marketing Intern
As a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a bachelor’s in Business Administration-Marketing, Morgan is excited to be a new member of the Integrative Growth team.
While pursuing her bachelor’s degree, Morgan maintained a number of positions that provided her with valuable experience to offer our firm. Her most recent position was as a marketing coordinator for an architectural firm where she handled marketing efforts, implemented social media and website changes, constructed proposals and dealt with administrative tasks. What Morgan may lack in years of experience she has made up for by her enthusiasm and passion for the all things green and sustainable.
In her free-time Morgan enjoys visiting friends in family back in her home town in Wisconsin, on the lake at her family’s resort.
